Habitat for Humanity -ReStore

Habitat for Humanity is a great organization that helps the less fortunate by building new homes for those that need a home.

In 2004, Habitat for Humanity opened their building supply store called the ReStore. Everything sold at the ReStore goes to building more homes for the needy, and also serves to recycle old building materials. In 2008, the ReStore started their deconstruction project. This program goes out to homes needing to be renovated or torn down and they deconstruct it, so that the parts can be resold at the ReStore.

I recently took a trip  over to their NW Houston Location to see what all they had for sale. When I walked in, I was amazed at how much stuff was in there!

There was a whole section with light covers of all different styles

Do you need a lampshade??? I think they have a few to choose from! :)

They have all sorts of  trim boards, and many styles of tile to choose from too!

They had a few air-conditioning condencer units, waters heaters, electrical panels, front doors....

more supplies for your lighting needs like lamps, dining room lights, foyer lighting and so much more!

As a Realtor, I work with investors at times. I was thinking as I walked through the place, that this would be a great place for real estate investors/rehabbers to come to get replacement parts for their rentals or rehabs.

So, if you are thinking of buying an investment property, doing a fix up on your current home, or have left over supplies from a past renovation to donate, go check out the ReStore. I think you just might find it a neat place to be.
